Hi

My garden backs on to a number of other garden areas near Blossoms Montessori, along with other houses on Ryedale, Grove, Dunstans Road, and Forest Hill Road (map attached).

Every evening around 9pm (and a lot of afternoons) one of the flats on Forest Hill Road plays very loud music. I have tried to work out which flat it is so I can ask them to be more considerate, but it?s difficult to work out which it is, and I haven?t had any luck so far. The best I can do (based on where the noise comes from) is determine that it is from one of the flats in the middle The small parade of shops near the co op (somewhere behind the letters ?est Hil? on the map attached).

Is anyone else bothered by this? Would be interested in speaking to anyone who might want to help tracking the source of the noise so we can ask them to turn it down a bit in the evenings.

Cheers

I was bothered by this :(

To help you on this one, contact your councils noise and nuisance team and if it's really loud and effecting your daily living experience, they can help to intervene. They could even help send letters to neighbours. They would come around and assess the noise first. Obviously, you note times within the day, as opposed to after 11pm, which would immediately be illegal. The music being played aloud before this time, would need to be assessed by them.

Hope that helps.

Exactly- but then the car stereo, heavy bass racket has started up again- they should lose their licences- after all with that mind-set they shouldn't be allowed to drive

Thanks all for your messages. I am still keen to hear from anyone who has the same issue with this one particular sound issue, which comes from one of the flats in the middle of to co-op parade of shops on Forest Hill Road.

This evening (as every evening from 9pm) the music is as loud and obnoxious as ever.

Thanks

As long as the music was decent dance music, like trance or techno, i wouldnt mind if tunes were booming nearby. Its when you get the vulgar and offensive rap, trap or grime music that action needs to be taken, i would call the police and if they are not taking it seriously, drop in the fact that you 'might' have seen the person who's house the music is coming from with a weapon or something, theyll certainly deal with it then.

This forum has gone nuts.

    • Agree with this. He's stood down from his role in Cabinet having left the Party, but he was elected as a representative of all the constituents in his ward and logic suggests that he should continue to represent them as a councillor for his remaining 3 months. He might wish to stand again, as a Green, in that ward (if he's chosen) and hope that personal loyalty to him might transfer, but that's now the call of his (new) party and him. He will have to balance that with a view about how many of his Labour supporters will feel sufficiently betrayed to continue to support Labour. I suspect, I may be wrong, that he will not have a cabinet position open to him after May (unless the Greens sweep in locally) so presumably he will have to consider his next career move, and whether that's back to full-time primary teaching.
