Why is it suddenly okay for junk mail to be put through letterboxes? I've had a leaflet from a tree surgeon, one from gutter clearance and another advertising painting and decorating. The icing on the cake was when the SE22 mag came through the door. I don't know what PPE the delivery people of this junk have in place. So now I have to leave it on my doormat for 72 hours before disposing of it.

Yes, I think I'll do that now. I know I have post delivered, and I always leave that before touching it, but not too keen on having lots of junk mail laying on the doormat! Thanks.

seenbeen. I am asking in a spirit of enquiry because I had never conceived of the idea of disinfecting letter box/ gate. Do you really do this? The whole of the top of the gate? And again , I am interested - if there is virus it will be on the ground and thence on the soles of our shoes. Do you leave these outside or disinfect? Do you disinfect everything delivered or bought in a shop? I am not criticising or judging, we each do what we feel we need to. But I think one of the reasons I never embarked on any kind of disinfecting regime is I couldn't quite see where it would end, so I wondered what your take on this was.

Since a lot of people hold South Korea up to be successful in the avoidance of deaths by covid

I'm probably more paranoid as I worked in a microbiology lab for 2 years

    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
    • Wholeheartedly recommend Aria. He was polite, responsive and sorted our leak, from an old tap on an old plumbing system, with no bother and on same day.
