lindylou
Why is it suddenly okay for junk mail to be put through letterboxes? I've had a leaflet from a tree surgeon, one from gutter clearance and another advertising painting and decorating. The icing on the cake was when the SE22 mag came through the door. I don't know what PPE the delivery people of this junk have in place. So now I have to leave it on my doormat for 72 hours before disposing of it. sue k
could you attach a polite notice asking for no junk mail? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/253631-junk-mail/#findComment-1422791 Share on other sites
lindylou
sue k Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> could you attach a polite notice asking for no> junk mail?Yes, I think I'll do that now. I know I have post delivered, and I always leave that before touching it, but not too keen on having lots of junk mail laying on the doormat! Thanks. Rumbero
Couldn't you just dispose of it and then wash your hands? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/253631-junk-mail/#findComment-1422819 Share on other sites
Countrlass22
Post and leaflets do not pose risk of catching covid 19.Its only hard surfaces metal. By cough sneeze. Or in under 2metres contact infected person. Not by touching post Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/253631-junk-mail/#findComment-1422843 Share on other sites
seenbeen
sue k Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> could you attach a polite notice asking for no> junk mail?I've got one and it does not deter them. And if the person posting is touching your letter box and gate with virus on his/her hands you need to disinfect. Sue
I like getting SE22, so I'm quite happy to quarantine it for a few days until I can read it 🙂What is junk mail to one person is useful or interesting to another! Peckhampam
seenbeen. I am asking in a spirit of enquiry because I had never conceived of the idea of disinfecting letter box/ gate. Do you really do this? The whole of the top of the gate? And again , I am interested - if there is virus it will be on the ground and thence on the soles of our shoes. Do you leave these outside or disinfect? Do you disinfect everything delivered or bought in a shop? I am not criticising or judging, we each do what we feel we need to. But I think one of the reasons I never embarked on any kind of disinfecting regime is I couldn't quite see where it would end, so I wondered what your take on this was.
