Shops and restaurants that will not reopen after lockdown

I just read the guidance concerning pubs reopening and there is one point that will give publicans a sigh of relief

"Reminding customers who are accompanied by children that they are responsible for supervising them at all times and should follow social distancing guidelines."

So no longer can patents allow Little Lord Fauntleroy or Little Miss Mischief to run riot in pubs or restaurants expecting staff to act as unpaid child minders or clear up after them

Silent cheer goes up in establishments all over England !

Yes it doesn't look like Tart is reopening.

I'm surprised by As Nature intended as they are part of a chain owned by Planet Organic so not cash poor.

I never used them anyway for that reason as I prefer to support my local independent shops.

As Nature Intended will be closing on Tuesday 11th August, confirmed by them today. As Nature intended have gone into CVA, company voluntary arrangement with their creditors. Planet Organic wouldn't survive in ED, unless you want to pay premium prices, to cover their premium rents. Foxtons own the building and the only available building on lordship lane only has A1 license and has so many restrictions on the planning, due to the residents who live above the property.

Shop local and independent. Many locals are now shopping local and independent due to the reliability and good stock levels in the independent stores. Many of the independent stores delivered to their customers during lockdown and they still do, and they stayed open throughout lockdown.

Im happy to see that yuppie shop close down as it was pointless and an awful replacement for Surma. Hopefully something useful and affordable will take it place, such as a cheap off license or small KFC/fried chicken shop (since the one opposite closed earlier this year).

The next place id like to see go is that health shop beside Hisar, i was warned by my housemate that during the lockdown and early stages of the pandemic they were selling room odourisers and saying they were hand sanistisers, charging ?5 for the privilege. Thats clearly a shop the community could do without.

Perhaps you'd like to retract the accusation about a shop based on a rumour. It appears to be malicious.

Actually it isnt a 'rumour' thanks, my housemate showed me the bottle and i saw it for myself, it was clearly labelled as 'room fragrance' or something similar. You may remember that for a while it was very difficult to get hold of hand sanitiser on Lordship Lane yet this shop had a big sign outside advertising they were and the stuff on sale was as above.

So a shop was advertising it sold one thing, and also happened to sell something else as well. Which was clearly and accurately labelled.

That's like complaining because a shop advertises it sells oranges and also happens to sell apples.

But keep on trolling, dontbesilly ...

Hi dontbesilly

i have just reported you. You seem hellbent on winding everyone up on here. Do not get personal about shops and business on here. I look forward to admin banning you. You are a parasite.

    • But you don't think the same protection should be afforded to those on the anti-LTN side...? Given the witch hunt some are be conducting to unearth which local residents are involved (see numerous examples on this forum), given the vandalism of the anti-LTN signs and interference with cars, labelling of anyone who opposes as some sort of petrol-head facist and given even Anna Goodman's tearing down of an anti-LTN poster you still think you only want anonimyity for those on one side of the argument? Does that not seem slightly hypocritical...it's why your first post on this issue entertained so many of us - it seemed ever so one-sided and summed up the challenges anyone who opposes the measures has to fight?
