Wedding ceremony venue

Hello,

My partner and I are getting married next Autumn. Our plan is to have a very intimate ceremony close to home in London during the week (non church) and then to have a celebration of our marriage at the weekend in the peak district (where we are both from). I'm hoping this will keep costs down.

Despite this I'd like somewhere prettier than some of the local registry offices to actually get married. It will be a family only service of approx 15 people and we will not require anything other than the ceremony itself.

Any thoughts on a local and reasonably priced venue for this?

you can get married at the horniman - lovely but pricey. The room at Southwark registry office is pretty, and lovely view onto a garden (which you have access to afterwards) so might be worth a look if you're after somewhere reasonably priced...

I was also pleasantly surprised at how attractive the Southwark Register office is. Mr Saff and I were married there. We looked at the Hornimal too, but alas they weren't offering winter ceremonies (we were married in Jan). So be sure you check the dates available, as some venues are limited. Also look at Dulwich Picture Gallery.

We recently got married in the Council Chamber of Hackney Town Hall. It's a beautiful room with oak pannelled walls and seats in a tiered horseshoe shape so everyone can see you. Th town hall itself on Mare Street is a gorgeous Art Deco building with stone steps at the front which are perfect for a photo opportunity. The registrars are very helpful - the whole thing was lovely It's set back from the road as well, so no traffic streaming by. We had so many positive comments from our guests, I would definitely recommend it.

We went to a Wedding at beauberry house, just between Dulwich picture gallery and bel air park. It was very nice!

We were married at Beauberry House, it has some lovely rooms. Eltham Palace, Greenwich Queens House and Greenwich Naval College all have beautiful rooms but v pricey.

Went to a wedding ceremony in the summer at Dulwich College, the "old library" I think, was lovely, but quite big, they may have other rooms. Or you could go to one of the more glam / famous registry offices in central london.

Any idea where you can find a list of the registry offices in central London? Would definitely consider that as an option.

I got married at Camden Town Hall which is opposite St Pancras station. It has a lovely marble staircase which is perfect for photos.

We got married at the Chelsea Town Hall on the Kings Road. Great location!
