EDmummy
On advice from our dentist, my 7 year old has been using very small amounts of adult toothpaste for a couple of years. Unfortunately, he absolutely hates the taste of mint which has resulted in avoidance tactics and poor brushing. Does anyone know of a very mild mint to alternative flavour toothpaste that still has a regular amount of flouride (please no discussion on the pros and cons of flouride)? Gidget
I think Lidl has some that aren't mint but are other herbs. Have a look at the Tom's of Maine toothpastes. Think there is a cinnamon one. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/25903-mint-free-or-mild-mint-toothpaste/#findComment-580759 Share on other sites
Renata Hamvas
Hello Kitty strawberry toothpaste, stocked by chemists and pound shops. 1400ppm fluoride, the same as adult toothpaste. Enjoyed by small mint loathers. (Stick a superhero sticker on it if Hello Kitty causes problems!)Renata Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/25903-mint-free-or-mild-mint-toothpaste/#findComment-580762 Share on other sites
Jessie
EDMummy - snap, exactly the same advice from dentist for my 7 year old son, who finds adult toothpastes way too strong. Finally I've found one he likes - it's more menthol than mint but not too strong tasting - Aquafresh Activity Cavity Protection, Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/25903-mint-free-or-mild-mint-toothpaste/#findComment-580763 Share on other sites
Gidget
Weleda, calendula and Euthymol isn't mint... I also found some clove toothpaste in a pound shop, think it was the one by Camberwell Green. Red and white packaging.Edited to change to clove. EDmummy
Double snap, Jessie! We have been using Aquafresh but he even finds that too strong. Thanks to eveyrone else, will try some of the others. @Renata, not sure a sticker over the Hello Kitty will fool him! Jessie
What a shame there's not a boy version of the Hello Kitty toothpaste! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/25903-mint-free-or-mild-mint-toothpaste/#findComment-580767 Share on other sites
hazelnunhead
I have the same mint aversion with my duaghter. I found in the chemist next to the French Cafe a "Punch and Judy" toothpaste (strawberry). There are some bubblegum flavours around as well .... pound shops often have them with characters on them ... theres a sponge bob one i think ...
