On advice from our dentist, my 7 year old has been using very small amounts of adult toothpaste for a couple of years. Unfortunately, he absolutely hates the taste of mint which has resulted in avoidance tactics and poor brushing. Does anyone know of a very mild mint to alternative flavour toothpaste that still has a regular amount of flouride (please no discussion on the pros and cons of flouride)?

I have the same mint aversion with my duaghter. I found in the chemist next to the French Cafe a "Punch and Judy" toothpaste (strawberry).

There are some bubblegum flavours around as well .... pound shops often have them with characters on them ... theres a sponge bob one i think ...

On the little strip of shops where the post office / co-op / is .....

Theres the small DIY shop on the corner and Herne Tavern across the road .... if that makes sense!

I cant remember what amount of fluouride the bubblegum ones had .... i have just been desperate to find non mint options!

    • Agree that you have to be so careful dogs in this heat… but please dont judge so quickly.  Its one thing if you see a dog at midday being thrown the ball endlessly, but if you see a dog en route / somewhere - You dont know if that dog was being walked to the vet for an emergency appointment.. or taken to a friend’s house that is cooler etc.  And if they live in a flat, they might desperately need to be taken out for a quick pee / poo !
    • I know,  absolutely crazy.  A dog has never died because it didn't have a walk, but dogs do die if walked in this heat. Perhaps the owners should put on a thick fur coat, take their shoes off and jog round the pavements, and see how that feels! 🤬
    • I bought myself a litter picker from Amazon and do go round and pick up . No one else does. I guess they just don't have the time what with job obligations and kids etc. Question. ...should we pay more council tax in return for a better service? This debate could go on forever.
    • Walking around ED at lunchtime shocked at the amount of owners walking their dogs. Do they not realise  they are risking their dogs life by doing this?
