Can anyone confirm the funding position for 2008/09?

I've just posted a message about Amott Road Pre-School too - and then noticed your post.

It will be forced to close at the end of March unless they can get more children to attend or get some external funding.

I wonder why they can't get more children? It seems odd. Most nursery places around here are over subscribed and have huge waiting lists. I wonder if its because its not full time day care.

May daughter goes to the nursery, I haven't heard anything about it closing but as bawdy-nan mentioned, it may well be because it's only open for 2 1/2 hours a day. I haven't got the contact number on me but I can gt it for you if you like.

I know they're looking for sponsors as it's a voluntary organisation. They receive a grant from the government every year. They do do various activities to try and raise money.

My son attended Amott Rd pre-school, and I can't enthuse about it enough. The teachers are superb, and it is such a happy environment. I am very thankful that I found about this little gem when I did. It is open 9.15-11.45 term time, and parents contribute a small sum. The rest comes from a government grant.

There are limited places, but if you work shifts/odd hours/have childcare sorted, then I would highly recommend putting your child's name down for this place. If you are not eligible for the grant, the cost is ?80 a month for 5 mornings a week. Well worth it, in my opinion.

Cass, I would be really grateful if you could get hold of the contact number so I could arrange a visit - better I think than just turning up.

Is there any reason it wouldn't have an ofsted report? couldn't trace one.

I have two numbers for Amott Rd - 07946 764881 and 020 76392224. With the landline number ring bw 9.00-11.45 and let it ring for a while. It takes Maloney, Lisa and Tina a while to reach the office!

I see you've already got the numbers. I spoke to Tina yesterday and she said they were full at the moment, but you can always pop in and get an application form. Then they'll make an appointment with you to show you around the place.
