Hiya,

May daughter goes to the nursery, I haven't heard anything about it closing but as bawdy-nan mentioned, it may well be because it's only open for 2 1/2 hours a day. I haven't got the contact number on me but I can gt it for you if you like.

I know they're looking for sponsors as it's a voluntary organisation. They receive a grant from the government every year. They do do various activities to try and raise money.

hope this helps!

My son attended Amott Rd pre-school, and I can't enthuse about it enough. The teachers are superb, and it is such a happy environment. I am very thankful that I found about this little gem when I did. It is open 9.15-11.45 term time, and parents contribute a small sum. The rest comes from a government grant.

There are limited places, but if you work shifts/odd hours/have childcare sorted, then I would highly recommend putting your child's name down for this place. If you are not eligible for the grant, the cost is ?80 a month for 5 mornings a week. Well worth it, in my opinion.

Thanks for this...really pleased its managed to keep going.

Cass, I would be really grateful if you could get hold of the contact number so I could arrange a visit - better I think than just turning up.

Is there any reason it wouldn't have an ofsted report? couldn't trace one.

    • Since the ES have posted such a glowing report of the festival, perhaps they'd be interested in a report into the resulting damage, or the Guardian?
    • I am hoping that the damage will not be as bad this year, so that the field can be returned to use for the rest of summer, instead of waiting for reseeding. I also wonder how the new bund has fared? It had some lovely wild flowers growing in and around it. Hope all that has survived. Unfortunately, over the GALA period the park pond has suddenly become littered with plastic cups and bottles that have been thrown into the water (I assume thrown as not sure how else they would get in there). This may be pure coincidence but prior to last weekend the pond was clear. Does park management have a way to get onto the pond and fish all the plastic rubbish out, I wonder? It can't be good to leave it.
    • Yep, confirmed in this vintage EDF thread from 10 years ago. 7-11 gave way to Londis.
    • I have split the Poundland -> Tesco Express discussion into another topic for easier reading. Feel free to continue the discussion about it there.
