A quick heads up that they've got roadworks and traffic lights here this morning, so the traffic is heavier than normal. Plus the bus stop for the 484 and 37 on East Dulwich Road is closed.

Hope my warning helped people - saw the chaos at about 8.15 this morning, including people who obviously didn't know the bus stop was going to be closed (luckily as the bus was stuck in traffic, the bus driver let them on even though the stop was closed). Thought my phone was going to die before I finished posting!

East Dulwich Grove was logjammed with traffic last night and has been again since 7am and still is. Anyone know how long this is supposed to last?

When I passed - excruciatingly slowly - on a bus last night, there were four guys in yellow jackets just standing around staring at the repair site ... with traffic jammed in both directions apparently due (in the direction heading up to the library) to a police car parked outside The Bishop at a crucial point .....

The traffic was pretty diabolical both way in LL at about 9.15 am today.

The main has been repaired. Reinstatement should be finished by tomorrow afternoon, once the concrete has cured and sited cleared.

SGN have worked through the night - sorry to those living close by but better that than a gas explosion!

They pin-pointed the leak and are repaired the joint this morning. Reinstatement is underway with quick drying concrete (its not as long lasting but should last a number of years) and should be completed by lunch time Friday.

So circa 20 hours left before its fully reopened.

Quite right James much better to have a teeny bit of inconvenience where the traffic was a little more interesting than usual than an explosion.

I understand that as at about 6.30 the road had not been fully reopened. Any idea when the work will be completed?

We came through Grove Vale, round the roundabout and up Lordship Lane last night. No problem.

i cycled down LL this afternoon - all looked fine.
