Sorry I missed you guys today. We had a costume for Isabella and everything! I've taken on a massive DIY project at our new place so not had much of a life for the last couple of weeks. After this weekend I'm back so look forward to seeing you all and the pics next week. Hope you're all well! Xx
Hi there, I was going to have people round to mine tomorrow for those that fancied but I have had a hectic week with work and nanny interviews... Therefore can I suggest putting that off til next week instead?! Happy to come wherever tomorrow subject to naps (ha) x

hi all,

we can't make it tomorrow either - we're in the countryside taking advantage of some babysitting to get some work done

looking forward to scoping the new gaff Jude(well new bits of it)

good luck with nanny interviews

btw - think I saw your husband/significant other and Maddy at rhyme time on monday (didn't get to say hello as on other side of room and dashed out early) - was pretty sure it was maddy (although hair much more under control now!)

x

Hey ladies,

I'm on for tomorrow. Shall we mix it up as it was a bit difficult getting buggies upstairs at the Clockhouse? Is there anywhere else anyone would like to suggest? Otherwise I am big fan of the East Dulwich Tavern.

Happy to go wherever including the Clockhouse if that's the preferred choice!

Really sorry I missed you guys again today :(

Nightmare last night and all day today as Isabella won't feed. Took her to the docs and hope it's just teething but a little stressful to go through. Hope you're all doing well. Hopefully see some of you at Rhyme time tomorrow, if things get better here... X

HI Ladies,

Sorry I wont make today either, in fact, general apologies for having been so crap and only attending 2 or 3 of the meet ups. I bumped into Bex yesterday at the Dish and Spoon which has prompted me to write...

A friend and I have started up The Little Disco Company and we are holding a new monthly family disco event at the Crown and Greyhound Pub in Dulwich. It's been taking up all of our nap times and sadly a few play times too, as I've been pretty head down every lunch time when the boys sleep (If I am lucky enough to get them both to sleep at the same time!)

You can read all about it on this thread (or maybe you already have :)

Anyway, tickets are flying out of the door and we have very nearly sold out for the 23rd November and 14th December and we are thinking of adding an extra session on the 14th December. It would be lovely to see a few of you there, especially if you have older kids too.

Hope to make a meet up really soon and see how the babies are getting on,

Clare

    • Was it the promise to act as a "strong voice" for Muslims that sealed the deal? The Green Party hired Abi Wilkinson from the Sultana wing of Your Party just before the Manchester by-election. She's on record as denying sexual violence during the 7 October 2023 attacks on Israel by Hamas, which is not true. I wonder if she was also responsible for the dodgy text of the Urdu and Bengali comms the Green Party pumped out in the last days of the campaign? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_and_gender-based_violence_in_the_October_7_attacks https://www.reddit.com/r/ukpolitics/comments/1rhrd36/fury_as_green_party_spin_doctor_denies_women_were/

    • I've not engaged in this debate so far but you can't be more wrong. In the UK our own language is English, there is a small minority who can rightly claim their language is Welsh or Gaelic, and a couple Cornish. British Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Christians, atheists etc will usually speak British, even if not their first language.  The vast majority will be able to understand English.   A small percentage, less than two percent, of people living in the UK have little or no English (census data).  It is right that in certain situations eg schools there is signage and information in other languages, providing public information. It is wrong that a political party do this, particularly one who came across as opportunist on this occasion. There is an interesting conversation about British expats living, for example, on the continent, where I expect huge swathes who can hardly say a word of French, Spanish etc.
