Oh Ted.

Mark Curry's first role was in the film Talkin' Dirty After Dark, alongside Martin Lawrence in 1991.

In 1992, Curry's first major role was on television series Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, where he played the lead role of Mark Cooper, an NBA player-turned-substitute teacher/gym coach.

Curry appeared two episodes of The Jamie Foxx Show as an eccentric driving instructor. In addition, he also had guest starring roles on television series Living Single in 1994 and Martin in 1997, and minor roles in the films Switchback and Armageddon in 1998.

In 2000, Curry also had a recurring role on The Drew Carey Show as Drew's boss at Winfred-Louder. He appeared in six episodes. In an April Fools' episode of The Drew Carey Show, Drew refers to Mr. Soulard as Mr. Cooper, the joke being that Curry played both roles

He was the host of Comedy Central's Don't Forget Your Toothbrush in 2000 and had minor roles in For Your Love, which starred Hangin' with Mr. Cooper co-star, Holly Robinson Peete). Also, in 2000, Curry starred in A Man Is Mostly Water. In 2001 had a minor role in the Disney Channel Original Movie Motocrossed. Later in the year, Curry played one of the leads in another Disney Channel Original Movie, The Poof Point.

Curry was the host of the PAX-TV show Animal Tails and BET's "Coming to the Stage" in 2003. In 2004, he appeared on Celebrity Mole Yucatan. He came in second place to Dennis Rodman. In 2005, had guest starring roles in Less Than Perfect and Fat Actress.

In 2009-2011, Curry hosted Jamie Foxx's "FoxxHole Live" every Monday in the Conga Room in Los Angeles, which was heard on Satellite Radio sirus 106/XM 149.

In 2012, Curry joined Sommore, Earthquake, Bruce Bruce and Tony Rock on the "Royal Comedy Tour." Many spectators have viewed Curry's stand-up comedy performance as the highlight of the show leaving the audience in hysterical laughter. Later in 2012, Curry joined Nickelodeon's first-ever original live-action family comedy series, See Dad Run as Scott Baio's friend Marcus.

Now that's a career.

Imagining Mark Curry Googling himself and seeing page after page of the *other* Mark Curry's career, laid out in front of him. Red carpet photo shots, his bessie mate Jamie Foxx.

Meanwhile...Dinner Theatre in Sonning. I hope he has a hobby.

That said, the *other* Mark Curry appears to be on the slide as well, which no doubt provides some small cheer.

On the slide? Worse than that:

On April 17, 2006, an aerosol can that had fallen behind Curry's water heater exploded and Curry, who was doing laundry at the time, was burned on over 20% of his body, including his arm, back and side. He spent many months recuperating at his home. According to an Associated Press interview posted on CNN.com on February 17, 2007, Curry considered suicide after waking from a three-day, medically-induced coma, reportedly hoarding pain medication. After talking with comedian friends who made him laugh, such as Sinbad and Bill Cosby, he decided against suicide. He went on The Montel Williams Show to discuss this issue.

The Montel Williams Show..... like a cheap care home for unloved celebrities

Walking HRT experiment and egomaniacal talent-void Edwina is Currie with an ie.

That's a an idea, Michael. Another idea I had was that Curry Wars could be decided by a knockout comp between celebrity endorsers. So Monica "Mo" Ali (Tandoori Nights) could have at it with Jenny Eclair (Curry Cabin) over three two minute rounds. Winner goes through to a decider versus the winner of Angela SE22 mag (Surma) and Mark EDF (Dulwich Tandoori).

    • A shout out for Mark, owner of Pure Plumbers. 07970 971510 They're well established in the Sevenoaks area, but have recently started doing more work in SE London.  Did some v quick and efficient bathroom and boiler fixes for me; have also seen some of the bathrooms he's built, which have a nice attention to detail. • Totally agree regarding not supporting chains. Gail’s was fine but last time I went in Feb this year, actually walked out Fayetteville looking at menu and waiting 15 minutes to even get glass of water and not busy at all. Staff gone down hill - sooner it goes the better… Always prefer to support non chains - so many lovely places with good food to choose from with pleasant staff who know about customer service and sadly, non English which says a lot for our culture, pubs are also becoming abit of a hit and miss affair but maybe just unlucky. At the end of the day all about the chef. Still abit unclear where new place is located - is it down the road from Goose Green where parade of shops are before Peckham Rye?
    • Surely only where the local businesses offer clear advantages, otherwise you are rewarding what should be failure. I want to be served by a better bakery than Gail's, not a worse but local independent one. Certainly give a local independent some time to get the offer right, but don't buy goods which are worse and or more expensive just because the outlet isn't a chain.
    • Let’s just boycott all chains in favour of local businesses.  Places like Gail’s popping up everywhere has a very damaging impact on small businesses. It’s just the same as the new empanadas place but on a bigger scale. I’ll say it a million times more, we hold the power with our choices. Let’s use our power to look after ourselves and our environment (which includes small local family businesses). And yes, I also love Chacarero.
