Maybe some more signage on

> Lordship Lane to remind me to pop in when I am up

The redundant electrical wholesalers signage is still up on the side wall and visible from the roundabout / EDT - perhaps the landlord would let them replace it with EDWarehouse signage (no doubt for a fee)?

As it's already there, planning consent would not be an issue

I love the fact that the topic has now moved onto the history of the warehouse. (thanks for all the comments about E.D. Warehouse, we will continue to address all of them to make the market better and better)

I believe that Edwards Electrical moved in to the warehouse in 1978. I also understand that the warehouse was used as a hospital during the second world war and that prior to that was a livery station. I plan to research the complete history of the building from the 1890?s to date. Does anyone have any interesting information about the history of the building?. It would be nice if we can display some old photos inside the warehouse.

Eddie

I visited this shop today and the selection of clothes was great.

Brands like French Connection, Jigsaw, Kookai, Earl Jeans along with vintage stuff. The prices were very reasonable and the staff lovely.

Earlytowers, I hope it was a success for you. Are there any chances it could become a permanent fixture?

Aaah thanks Goodliz.. we had a great day yesterday..loads of fun and everyone was so friendly.. We cant retire just yet so we are back.. for another day.. so if people are wandering around Lordship Lane today pop in.. prices most likely to be slashed..

Hello everyone..

Well last week was such a success (in terms of a laugh as opposed to turning us into millionaires..) that were hoping to be back next week. Everyone in the warehouse is so friendly we feel like we are in some sort of sitcom chatting away to the cheese man, the rug lady and the oyster lad..

We are already picking new bits and bobs for next week and if people are looking for anything in particular then let us know..

Hope to see some of you next week.

Ryan and Clare..

    • If it's the same one I'm thinking of, it was a little further down the road towards LL, probably where the Fresh Flower Company is today. I'd forgotten all about it, with good reason. I think it disappeared before Blue Mountain opened and became a pizza place? I once bought a carton of milk from the deli and when I opened it, it was solid. I did get my money back though.
    • But when was it posted?! I haven't posted any this year. I can't bring myself to pay the exorbitant cost of the stamps, and at least I can sort of honestly blame it on illness. If I can't hand deliver them, I send e-cards. I know it's not the same, but it's very much easier. And as for the people who still send pages of closely handwritten letters .... very admirable in terms of the hours it must have taken them to write them,  but they remind me of those spoofs eg x has just passed all their many important exams with the highest marks possible, y has just walked round the world in a week, z has just become the first person ever to be knighted twice, we are about to fly off for our fifteenth exotic holiday this year ....... Or else (or sometimes and) they are full of who has had what illnesses and accidents and other catastrophes. Is this just my relatives and distant friends? Am I somehow attracting these reams of handwritten paper?
    • Oh, I didn't know that! I didn't move here till 1991 (I think) but the NCR incarnation must have been around that time? Unless my failing memory is even worse than I thought it was, sob.
    • I just googled, and apparently there's another branch of the Soho Street Govinda's  in Theobald's Road. I had no idea.
