Having just suffered extreme disappointment following the ingestion of an eagerly anticipated (and thoroughly unsatisfactory) breakfast I am seeking the advice of local epicureans as to sourcing the best breakfast sausage.

My own experience reveals that most local supermarkets provide tasteless, textureless offerings that exude brown unpleasant liquids. ?Flock and Herd?: too much nutmeg, William Rose: rather bland.

All I want is a standard breakfast sausage that has texture, flavour and browns up nicely whether grilled or fried; might just benefit from addition of a soupcon of English mustard.

Any advice much appreciated.

My sausage making course is coming up on the "You Are What You Eat" season that we're about to commence safely filming outdoors. To become involved please send two members of your family to the venue (likely Goose Green) and ?100 to cover entry and coaching. After the session we shall return just one family member and between 75 and 100 beautiful sausages.

    • These neighbours dislike trees period. They refused to have lost trees replaced by the Estate on our communal green. They don’t like the leaf and seed droppings. These make the grass look ‘messy’. Similarly, they don’t like my policy of leaving the tree leaves where they lie on the grass verge - hence chopping the overhanging branches. It’s like living in the 1950s. My neighbours have three gardeners with leaf blowers who come twice weekly to remove every leaf from their front lawns. Their grass is cut weekly and all the  cuttings put in multiple brown bins. It’s an outdated mindset of the moneyed classes in my view. But sadly, I’m very much in the minority.
