Also baths in Camberwell, Peckham, Forest Hill and Herne Hill (Brockwell lido might be a bit nippy in Winter, mind you).

No idea whether prices differ from one to another though as they are all Southwark pools outsourced to, I think, the same contractor.

Forest hill pool is fairly reasonable for a membership - I signed up for a single month for around ?34, but if you sign up for several months at once the prices come down quite quickly and I seem to recall a 6 month membership works out to be ?20-odd per month, which is pretty decent for an unlimited swimming membership.
i might b wrong here in what i am sayings, so u would have 2 look in to it more, but if you can prove you are a full time student you can get discounts at dulwich leisure centre, pay as you go, you sign up and get a fusion card and then you just pay as you swim, i think it is about ?2.00 per swim, i might be totally wrong but look in to it more.i am sure i read that some where......................

Hi Carrotcake, as a full-time student, if you bring proof of this to either the Fusion centre in ED, Camberwell or Peckham you can join for a discounted membership which enables you to use the pool, gym, classes etc for around ?20 a month.

Renata

Carrotcake, I just finished a year as a full time student.

If you're just interested in swimming, I'd suggest going to any of the Fusion-run facilities. You pay a 3 pound fee to get your Fusion card, and then each swim you do is 60p. That's it! Super affordable and easy. No monthly fees or anything, just the one off and then the cost of your swims.

As Renata said just bring proof that you're a student somewhere (I brought a letter from my uni saying i was enrolled and when my course ended).

    • Dishing the dirt is generally fine when it comes to politicians and in Farage's case he often deserves it but  nothing illegal  has been done. It is not illegal for him to give his partner a sizeable amount of money with which to buy a house and have it registered in her name. He is 64 years old and his partner is 16 years younger and so he most likely is making plans to minimise IHT. There is a sliding scale for IHT but basically a gift is free of IHT if the gift is made 7 years before the donor dies. Farage is 64 years old and his partner is 16 years younger. In 7 years time, if he lives that long, he will be 71 years old. Given that he smokes like a chimney and drinks like a fish, his odds on getting beyond 71  years may be pretty slim.  A similar  process is followed by the "bank of mum and dad"  where parents  give money to their kids to fund purchase of a property. Many who are not cash rich will mortgage their home and so release equity to fund their kids property. We did it as have many of our friends.
