Whats happened to the Grove/Harvester

Any ideas went passed today and windows are being Boarded up,

They are two different places? The Plough is the end of Barry Road, the Grove / Harvester further down towards Forest Hill. Which one is boarded up? The Grove did have a fire some weeks back.

It's the Grove (old Harvester). I passes by yesterday too.:)

The Harvester had a fire in the kitchen back in the summer. Was actually in the restaurant eating

when it occured. Would of personally thought it would of been up and running by now .

There was a sign in the window saying it was undergoing a refurb & would be back in December.

We went in for lunch earlier this year, before the latest fire, and they were no longer The Harvester but had reverted back to being The Grove. They didn't do the salad cart as the old Harvester did. The waitress who served us said lots of customers were not very happy that it had changed, when we said we wouldn't be going back. We loved the salad cart and I had to struggle to finish my mains too.

That's the second fire I can remember in that place - the last one was in the 1990's.

I agree, what is the thought behind removing the salad cart though? More room for tables, change of menus? not a fire risk surely?

once it became the grove the quality of the food went down too!!! i only went in there once after it became the grove & won't be going back in a hurry until it becomes harvester again!!

I've been told, by reliable source , its closed permanently. It'll be developed into flats and mitchell and butler have sold it.

Crikey, I can't believe the food was worse than it was when it was a Harvester.

I had the misfortune to go there once - but it least it was as a "mystery shopper", so at least I wasn't paying :))

Both our main courses were sent back - can't remember why now, it was years ago.

A shame, although local drinkers down that end of LL seem to prefer going to the Plough or the Wetherspoons owned The Capitol in Forest Hill.

Even when it was a Harvester, the pub/bar area was so small and generic that it didn't exactly have a warm feel to the place as the restaurant part was their core revenue earner.

Anymore news on this I have heard it will be apartments and also wetherspoons have now bought it anyone know for sure??
