CPZ controlled parking in Denman/Talfourd/Lyndhurst/Bushey Hill/Crofton/Shenley

Southwark Council have opened a consultation on the closure of the bridge on Camberwell Grove ? make your views known. I've put it on this thread as it seems relevant to the area.

"Camberwell Grove bridge, near the junction with McNeil Road, has been closed to motor traffic since October 2016, due to structural failure. Repairs to the bridge will soon be completed by Network Rail, which will allow it to be reopened for small motor vehicles (under 3 tonne) with traffic lights allowing alternate one-way flows to cater for both north and south-bound traffic.

Since the bridge has been closed, the council has heard from some residents who favour retaining the closure on a permanent basis, as well as some residents who wish to see it reopened as soon as possible, principally due to the impact of additional traffic on other residential roads in the area.

However because it will make such an impact, the council wants to hear your views before taking a final decision on reopening the bridge.

Please answer our online consultation here by 30 October."

    • @Sue now that you've been provided with an elegant sufficiency (most usefully from @Dogkennelhillbilly ) of evidence of sectarianism in the Gorton and Denton campaign, has your support for the Greens changed in any way? Genuinely interested.
    • Another recommendation for Niko who identified a leak in my lavatory and sorted it.  Helpful and good to deal with.
    • The SSRS app (Safer seas and rivers service), is worth downloading. It gives you real time updates on water safety / sewage discharges. It's pretty eye opening / alarming, how regularly areas are not safe, but reassuring when you do get the 'all clear'.
    • The programme was brilliant and makes me wary now of sea paddling as so many areas affected. My daughter was working at a bank when privatisation of utility companies were floated. Bank advised its staff that only x number of shares could be purchased by individuals as Government rules at that time. She reported that certain people were seeking double and triple shares. Bank told her to ignore the guidelines as those customers had thousands of pounds in the bank. She was so disgusted at the banks attitude she handed in her notice, She decided that the financial world was too corrupt. Two degrees later - she now works in the NHS as an OT in mental health unit.
