Heard this for the first time today. Had me almost weeping by the end of it. How does Dylan do this? He's written so many great songs that have been unreleased for decades and when they finally are you're baffled as to why they weren't. This is up there with any of his great love songs. Just gorgeous.

A couple of albums by the criminally underrated Oliver Cherer (aka Dollboy).

Beard of Bees is understated, sun-soaked folk.

Sir Oliffe Leigh & Other Ghosts is beautiful English pastoral folk with a drop of Robert Wyatt-ness thrown in.

Both are utterly gorgeous.

Olly Murs seems like a likeable young chap.

But, have a listen to a couple of tracks on those albums. So much of the very best music is made by people that don't care a jot for commercial success and therefore don't trouble the playlists of commercial radio or radio 1.

Oliver's (Cherer, not Murs) work is a joy.

new modest mouse

5 years in the making and it sounds exactly like the last one, with a couple of hits from the previous one thrown in.

sad face.

Titch, gave that Ollife chap a listen, nice.

Have you listened to any Darren Hayman (or his Raw Sex alter ego 'French')? Passing similarities here and there so you might like.

    • If I was on a table of two accused of eating thirty poppadoms (with pickles and chutneys) on top of curries and sides, I think I'd be inclined to say 'Yep, that was us' and ask the waiter to write off the entire bill. That is a truly heroic feat and should be recognised as such, even if you didn't actually do it.

    • I would question ‘affordable’. Fit For is £115 per month for the standard (cheapest) membership.    for comparison, the leisure centre on CPRoad is £44 per month (£37 for concessions) and JAGs sports club is £60 per month, they also have various concession or family membership offers
