Hi all,

I had adopted a pet mouse earlier this year called Gary Oldman, and sadly he died a couple of weeks ago. I want to get another one for Christmas, although no mouse will ever sufficiently replace the love and affection that Gary gave me, I can try. I spoke to Pets at Home and the man had no idea where to get one? Does anyone know where I'd be able to find one (younger the better so that I have a year or two until I experience another harrowing mouse death)? Please help mend my broken, mouse-less heart. Any pet shops that sell mice or local mouse owners with babies?

PS: Please no comments about "there's one under my dishwasher you can have", have heard it a thousand times.

The average lifespan of a mouse kept in captivity is 2 years.

Pet mice have one of the shortest lifespan of all pet rodents.

Good luck with your search.

No Idea where you might be able to buy one.

Don't seem to see many Pet Shops these days. Used to loads in the 50's - 60's

Selling Budgies.. Hamsters... Fish.. everything

Rehoming is definitely best, but if this doesn't work try ringing Supreme Foods, they are one of the largest independent pet shops in the area and if they can't supply one they probably know who stocks mice.

    • Hello.   Thanks Nigel and Hparker 😀   I've got new slots available for new students looking for a piano teacher or guitar teacher.   You could start in the new term beginning September, or I'm also available adhoc-styles through the summer holidays at times.   I teach all ages, in most styles, in lots of different ways according to how you learn/like to learn.   Give me a call or text on 07730 402336.   I have connections to lots of performance opportunities/networks too.   I run regular events /student concerts, and play in bands/perform.   Natalie.
    • So do I, but I think they are in trouble as well.  Anyway, that space wouldn't be big enough.
    • I'm not talking about Starmer. I was responding to a post which  said that  Corbyn was unelectable. How people voted in the "more hotly contested election" is irrelevant. Corbyn wasn't leading the Labour Party then. Starmer was. And the turnout for Labour reflects that.
