LondonMix
The Italian place on Melbourne grove is good, cheap and does yummy pizzas.ED needs another nursury. An American breakfast / brunch place would be cool as would a steakhouse. Vilmos
There used to be a shop that sold and repaired second hand Reliant cars and vans next to the EDT.But there again, you don't see many around these days, so I don't suppose there would be much call.Just a thought though. Stevelock
Lordship Lane needs a Marks and Sparks food hall instead of the Co Op if you ask me. There are also far too many indian restaurants? a petition for signage should be drawn up so that all outlets have a well designed, tasteful sign. Most do but the odd one here and there stands out like a sore thumb and lets the side down. This would improve the image of the lane and make ed even more desirable with a simple cosmetic facelift such as signage. A good sign and shop front should be consistent throughout the lane Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/27250-what-does-lordship-lane-need/page/2/#findComment-599468 Share on other sites

LondonMix
The council are providing grants for shops on the south-end of LL to smarten up signage etc. Its part of a regeneration scheme. Growlybear
I'd like to see a decent sized M&S food hall (or a Waitrose), some decent, reasonably priced clothes shops, and a stationers. And preferably less restaurants and coffee shops. Chillaxed
I have to admit I'd go a KFC on LL. Walking to Rye Lane is practically exercise, and KFC and exercise don't go together. That we could leave it to fall apart... so we could pull it down and build some Cardboard Flats. That we can sell for a fortune... Cos everyone wants to live in ED. There are plenty of shops offering good quality clothes at sensible prices which would probably do very well in Lordship Lane against the dire overpriced clothing shops that we have at the moment. And yes, I think a M&S and stationers would add to the area, particularly if they were to replace some of the coffee shops that have sprung up everywhere. MarkE
In all seriousness, not a lot. Wouldn't mind the addition of a few things, but they're really just luxuries rather than anything ED really needs.1 or 2 screen cinema, maybeSomewhere that does nice Ice Cream/FroYo as a sidelineA few fewer curry housesSome sort of rustic italian or spanish jointBut really, compared with most places, we're spoilt. Enjoy what you have whilst it lasts.
