I must take issue with Jeremy's definition here.

'Songs' is too narrow a term to describe those 'pieces' that might make up a soundtrack. One would not describe an orchestral 'piece' as a 'song'. Nor would one describe 'tunes' such as Gritty Shaker out of Ocean's 11 - as a 'song'. Both these 'tracks' are, however, most definitely 'soundtrack'.

I think that's just about it. Any existing music = soundtrack.

Written 'for' the film = score. An exception would be eg a song written for the film but for use during, say, the titles or credits. Score is usually written for, but also 'written to' the picture. Though I'm sure a lot of less trad composers these days just do a load of cues which the editor can mix up as they please.. especially in action flicks.

Times Square really was a humdinger - bit more info

The movie features a soundtrack of punk rock and New Wave music with a wide range of artists including The Ramones, The Cure, XTC, Lou Reed, Gary Numan, Talking Heads, Suzi Quatro, Roxy Music, Robin Gibb & Marcy Levy, Patti Smith and The Pretenders. The song "Down in the Park" is credited as being performed by Gary Numan although technically it was recorded when Numan was using the band name Tubeway Army. The Suzi Quatro track, "Rock Hard," is identified in the film as being Nicky and Pamela's favourite record.

The soundtrack also features original songs sung by the film's actors, "Damn Dog" by Johnson, "Your Daughter Is One" by Johnson and Alvarado, and "Flowers of the City" by Johnson and David Johansen. The soundtrack, as a compilation of some of the most important new wave and punk music from the era, achieved far more notoriety than the film did on its release. It also became a collectors' item among fans of XTC, because it included the specially-written XTC track "Take This Town", which for many years was only available on this soundtrack.

    • There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of enthusiasts, and at other times the owner might have been off acquiring stock. He also repaired air guns, which he also sold. He stocked edged weapons, uniforms, including antique uniforms, air guns and ammo and starting pistols and shot. Some medals and other militaria. Quite a lot of ex service chit chat on a Saturday. I had an amateur interest, didn't deal a lot, in English pattern swords and other mainly 19th century militaria. And made some good purchases there. I'm afraid WWII and later events was the major focus of most of the regulars.
    • Did anyone actually venture in to that place? I recall it always being closed/very uninviting!

    • Why would mice move? It’s not so much they move as multiply and spread    copy and paste rather than cut and paste  mice can and should be dealt with.  But not easily or with guarantees  i would say most people in se22 reading this have mice. Whether they know it or not
