WiFi/phone line deliberately cut last night

Hi all,

Flagging that someone came into our front porch area and cut the WiFi/phone line last night (presumably before attempting to access our property). We heard the guy as we were all in the front room.

Police have advised us be extra vigilant. Anyone else have any similar issues last night? (Or has this happened to anyone else before?).

We are in the North Cross Road area.

I would hazard a guess that if it's crime related then potentially it's to disable alarm monitoring / wireless alarm systems

Hopefully nothing more comes off it but might be worth asking neighbours if they have CCTV to get a picture of the person involved.

Agree that it seems likely they?re trying to disable alarms / cameras. We?ve given neighbours the heads up today.

If your alarm is monitored then cutting the phone line will cause a fault and you?d be informed of it. (Normally via text message)

Hi, our WiFi suddenly dropped last night and hasn?t come back on - we are nearby to North across Road but doesn?t look like our line has been physically cut.

The Standard in the below article seems to imply they are not pros but someone behind them obviously is and is giving instructions. There seem to be a bit of foreigner fear here but normally that's the Mail and Express so maybe this one is true.
