Sri Lankan food?

If you can be arsed, the best place I know of (that we use regularly) round here is Everest Curry King down Loampit Hill, nr. Lewisham. Bit of a hike but it?s all there.

All the curries are cooked already and on display behind glass cases the staff serve from.

The biryani is ace, parathas awesome, the ?pies? are mental.

When they?re open for sit-down (currently obvs it?s all takeaway) the dosais are pretty good.

I recommend this place.

Thanks everyone. I know Ganapati well and order from there more often than I should!

I will definitely try Everest Curry King when I can - they don't deliver to SE15 unfortunately. I have a friend who lives down that way so a trip there to eat in will be on the cards when it's possible.

I'll come down to see Oru when I can too.

The Hoppers delivery kit sounds great, must give that a try. Am missing my mum's home-made hoppers

Tracy - when I can be bothered I cycle over to Ganesha for my Sri Lankan food fix. They do hoppers on the weekend (I think) and they also do string hoppers all during the week. It's 30 mins on bike from ED or probably half that in the car if you drive. 435 Bromley Road, Bromley BR1 4P

    • What is it that makes Waitrose so special! Admittedly I have shopped a couple of times in the Orpington and Beckenham one - sometimes buying food which I cannot get else where. Their 'basic range' is not bad. Price for price and quality - M & S.
    • Sometimes a shed or other installation has to have written approval from the freeholder i.e. Southwark, Southwark has (or did have) a Leaseholder Association.   Could also come under Anti Social Behaviour Unit.
    • Love Dulwich is great but has a large step in front. We have only been weekdays at Lunch time. Maria's next to Picture House is disabled friendly. Also can reserve table in advance. We did a Sunday lunch catch up with family - there were 8 of us.
    • Hi, Thinking about  going with some friends and was just wondering if folk might like to report back please. Most importantly sound level when busy & is it disabled friendly.  Thinking on a Sunday lunchtime but don’t want a busy busy environment or loud chatter - a couple of friends could not cope. Time can be flexible, if that helps - say 2 ish to avoid above.. Thanks…
