Hello from the other side of Denmark Hill.

I was recently asked if I would make postcards of the attached, which was originally a Christmas Card from 2019.

Slightly sweary, but clearly hitting a chord with many for some reason.

I'm also looking for similar graffiti around Dulwich and Herne Hill or anywhere in south London really so if anyone knows anywhere that may be suitable, please get in touch either by leaving a message or email me at [email protected].

By the way I am now selling these online at ?5/pack of 10.

If anyone would like some you can order them from the link above, where you can also see a better picture of the cards.

The first print run has almost sold out but I have more on order.

Thanks all.

Tom.

I loved the old school political graffiti, much sadly lost. Whatever happened to Slade on a wall by the Oval, supplemented by whatever happened to Terry Waite. The wall was demolished when they built a new stand at the ground. And not far away in Loughborough Junction. "Let's flip Thatcher in 1989". Got pressure washed off about ten years later. Should have been listed. Sadly no images on line. Here's some others (PS Clapton is not God, he's (allegedly) a racist). https://londonist.com/2015/01/10-london-graffiti-slogans-from-the-last-50-years

A nearby fave was by Horniman Gardens where someone had graffiti'd I'd like to X@!** your mother. The profanity had been amended to 'help your mother'. Nice one.

I remember being fascinated by the 'George Davis is Innocent' graffiti across London when I first learned to read in the 1970s. Back to present times, and there's a surreal bit of graffiti where someone has added 'to my b***s' to a 'No entry' sign on Acre Lane in Brixton which my children find hilarious.

    • Ian the guy who used to own the garage left last year. The place is run by someone else now. Ian was our reliable mechanic for many years, a sad loss. We now use Turners on Barry Road.
    • Agreed that Niko is really good: he was helpful and explained everything in detail, and did a good job fixing the problem I had. He was also honest rather than trying to drum up a bigger (more expensive) job for himself by telling me everything needed replacing etc. He charged a very reasonable rate. Will definitely call him when I need a plumber again and would recommend!
    • Sue, Sue, Sue Yes the bus stop at what was The Kings Arms I believe remains closed,  However the stops at the Heaton Arms (no youngster here) is open. Easiest way is a 63 or 363 to Peckham Hill street and change for the 78 which takes you directly to the front door or as good as.
    • I need to go to Asda in the Old Kent Road tomorrow. Theoretically I can get a 78 or 363 bus, but it looks as if the bus stop at East Dulwich Road/Peckham Rye may be closed. I don't know why, but I assume it may be due to gas or water works. Does anybody know if it is just this bus stop, or are other bus stops (or the routes) affected?  I don't want to get a nasty surprise tomorrow, as I have an appointment, so it's time critical.
