Just consider how long you want it to last. Some of the quirkier bits of kids furniture look great but kids can grow out of it (in size or theme) long before it's had full use. We went for plain big things (wardrobe, drawers etc) and then added fun.smaller bits.

Hiya, if you fancied a bit of "customising" you could get cheap-ish adult furniture.... e.g. paint the front of a basic wardrobe with blackboard paint and your LO can have hours (ok minutes) of fun with chalks, add funky knobs to a basic chest of draws etc. I also remembered this from Pebbles thread: http://pressiesbypebbles.com/my-crafting/very-cool-childrens-furniture/

For me, I look prefer to buy from newly opened websites [because I tend to get tired of going to showrooms] because you can get a good deal if they are not as know as the other sites. Like one my sister found, http://www.beds-bed.co.uk/, she bought a pretty Princessy Cot http://www.beds-bed.co.uk/beds/princess-toddler-cot-detail

    • Thankfully, it seems that yesterday's "Red vs Blue" school wars thing has turned out to be a hoax/ nonsense/ whatever. (See link below if you managed to avoid this stuff). In years to come, we might found out who - or which countries - has an interest in testing what happens when you post socially disruptive content online about fake events... In the meantime, thank you to our local teachers and other school workers, police community support officers and police officers. My commute happens to take me past a bunch of schools at dropoff/pickup times, and I noticed a much greater and more visible presence on streets outside/near schools than normal. Annoying as it must have been to be distracted from other important duties, I really value and appreciate them looking out for the kids. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/school-wars-trend-red-blue-london-police-latest-142328025.html https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/jan/01/birmingham-new-year-fireworks-display-centenary-square-police
