I need to make a sort video of a series of my paintings for my website (like a slideshow, just flicking from image A to image B, image C and so on) ) and for an exhibition - any suggestions for the simplest way to do this?

I saw a few apps that seem to do the job but don't know which would be the simplest to use. Some seemed very expensive so if there are any free ones which would work that would be good.It would be handy to be able to use it for Instagram too..

Or I have an iMac which I could have a go on if not...

thanks for any suggestions.

I regularly use VivaVideo app (free!) on my phone. It is basically a video editor. You can create your own montage with pictures, videos, music, timing adjustments etc and it is fairly simple to use. Not sure about insta, but the final file is a video so would be easy to upload to your website. Good luck!

thanks for the suggestion, Smiley

I had a quick look at VivaVideo on the app store - it says 'free trial'of the premium features - did you get that as well or do you find the free version is enough? I'll probably only be using it for a one-off....

Hi again Smiley

when I open the free version of VivaVideo , it's asking me to do a '14 day Free trial' of the paid app - did you manage to use it for free without having to do a refundable payment? I can't seem to do that...

There are many different free apps or plugins to do this. The key search words are "carousel" + "slider" + "web page"

Much depends on how your web site has already been formed. Most are developed using a proprietary theme rather than write raw code.

I use Theme Fusion's Avada theme.

If you want to go another way ypou can create amp4 file to ri=un on a loop. You can craete this with a variety of free video editors such as Videopad.

    • Thanks jazzer, jazzer,  Jazzer 😀 I don't know either of those pubs, believe it or not, so I will google the Heaton Arms, thank you (and thanks for the tip about the easiest way!)
    • Niko hardly needs another recommendation but we use him regularly. He's good value, he turns up when he says - or tells you if he can't - and definitely knows what he is doing.
    • Ian the guy who used to own the garage left last year. The place is run by someone else now. Ian was our reliable mechanic for many years, a sad loss. We now use Turners on Barry Road.
    • Agreed that Niko is really good: he was helpful and explained everything in detail, and did a good job fixing the problem I had. He was also honest rather than trying to drum up a bigger (more expensive) job for himself by telling me everything needed replacing etc. He charged a very reasonable rate. Will definitely call him when I need a plumber again and would recommend!
