Thanks Mockers - I will speak to Mr. Moos to do my part in the search for the Eleventh Man but I suspect that he will think it's a silly game for foreigners and not want to play.

PGC - do you think the cricket team might just want your milkshakes? ::o They do bring all the boys to the pitch.

I might just be able to make this although I haven't played for 25 years. I used to be quite a handy opening batsman when I was a youngster. I could do with a bit of exercise as well, so if you're a man short and a bit desperate, a nod's as good as a wink to a blind horse etc...

I may not have the car either citizen. My position, which I?m sure is similar to yours, is such that if women decided to have babies I don?t have a car. I will have to see if any of them are due.

Oh Jah don't worry I haven't played an actual game of cricket in about 13 years. This is why we must have a net. This Saturday anyone?

Hello East Dulwich Forumers,

This horrendous picture is of me, Raju, captain of King's Road CSC taken today. That bump on my head was me miscalculating how to bat against our opening bowler - and boy does it hurt. In our last match his bowling figures were: 7 overs - 5 maiden overs - 3 runs conceded - 3 wickets.

Anyway enough about him. On our website, we have a page with the details of the match (location, direction etc): http://www.krcsc.co.uk/match.php

If this has not already been done, I would like to establish the match stipulations and start time. In our previous match, we agreed on:

- 40 overs a side

- no bowler can bowl more than 7 overs

- one new ball to be used for both innings

- 2 members of the batting team to umpire

If you have any questions, email me at raju.mazumder at bristolalumni.org.uk

Cheers,

Raju

I'm afraid to say I'm a real doubt.

I shall do my best, but Saturday is looking manic, I have to be at this venue for 4pm, help set up / sound check, then the event starts, we finish playing at 1am, then have to wait for everyone to leave before we can get the gear out, so I will be lucky to get home by 4am, and think I will be totally knackered!

So what I am saying is I am going to try, but don't count on me. Sorry.

    • Thanks for these responses. Yes, Cllr Browning & Cllr Hartley did a door-knocking exercise a couple of months ago. It was Maggie Browning who knocked and I told her that I'd had radio silence from Jon Hartley. She looked embarrassed but not surprised. I have spoken to him since, only after writting to Ellie Reeves, our MP about it his lack of response. He agreed to address the issue I asked about but I've not heard from him since. It's really not acceptable for an elected Councillor to consistently ignore his ward constituents. Since it's clearly not a one-off, I'm gonna pick this up formally. I'll let you know how I get on...
    • If memory serves, Labour under Corbyn got more electoral  votes than Labour under Starmer. So I'm not sure how you can call that being "unelectable"? Under a different and fairer electoral system Labour would have won. I see moves are afoot to bring in such a different, fairer system, presumably in the hopes of stopping Reform winning next time. BTW there was a mass exodus from Labour  by  the local (East Dulwich) Labour party members when Corbyn was kicked out by Starmer. It isn't just Islington who doesn't want to support  a right or centre right Labour party.
    • Is this the new shop next to Dulwich Tandoori? is it actually open and if so has anyone tried them.
    • It was The Brickhouse - we liked them and it was very sad when they had to close
