I know all that David, but having seen the mental rants on the blog before, I don't really trust what it says, and I still think they could just write this off as a bad experience and get on with it now.

I have no idea who would come out on top legally, I can't see why Celestial would lose a case. Fine, they may have had a moral duty (in some people's eyes) to let them sort it, but legally... Not sure. Of course, the lawyers will encourage them to go for it, as they'll get paid whatever.

I have spoken directly to the owners of G&B about this and they most certainly have not issued proceedings for any amount of money against anyone. In any event discussion of this nature is very unfair - both to Celestial, since it suggests they have done something wrong, and we have no proof of that, and to G&B, who are probably, as SimonM says, now in the hands of their insurer and so unable to comment one way or the other. Perhaps it would be better to just be pleased that two local independent businesses continue to exist, and hopefully to thrive, and hope that if they do have differences they can be resolved quickly.

What legalbeagle says.

Far more importantly, had a yummy and gossipy supper with a girlfriend at G&B on Wednesday which I enjoyed very much. BUT had a horrible surprise when the ice-cream billed as chocolate ice-cream turned out to be mint-flavoured chocolate ice-cream. Aaarghtthhhhha;lka;tiouasdvnae;tri. Not that I won't go back or anything, the place is a gem, but do you think I could sue for the shock?

This place certainly seems to cause quite a stir! The concept is brilliant, and the wine shop keeps Teaboy busy for hours-he loves it. I have just come back from a really disappointing lunch there. We waited ages for our food, which, when it turned up was dry, and not what we ordered. They are just not back into the swing of things since the closure. The staff (all new or junior) were apologetic, I just hope they start to become more consistent. I don't want to feel like it's a gamble to go there for lunch.

    • Ok thanks, I will ask the GP. Sorry, I know I post on here a lot/too much, but I'm not going into my medical issues on here. If I could find the information I need online, I obviously wouldn't need to see a dietician! Thanks for trying to help, though x
    • We had two air con units fitted with the heat pump mounted on the back wall.  one indoor unit in the loft and one in the kitchen/diner.  would not have been able to sleep in this heat in the loft without it - absolutely love it.  We have solar+batteries so with the amount of sun we having then its covering the cost of the aircon.  we used Progas Heating Services Ltd, 176 Sydenham road, London, SE26 5JZ Tel: 020 8 676 0101 [email protected] they were brilliant.  quick and straightforward to deal with.  highly recommend.  cost was ballpark £5k all in.  was quite a bit of chasing pipework into the walls and running pipes from the heat pump to the 2 units.
    • Probably a daft question but does Chacarero not sell chacareros?
