Can anyone recommend a pub fairly local to East Dulwich, for lunch this Sunday?

The Palmerston but you'll have to book, can be pricy though. The great exhibition is a but cheaper or the east Dulwich tavern.

I dont know how far you're happy to go but The Alma in Crystal Palace does a really good roast

The Old Nuns Head in Nunhead. Great family pub, great food, but get there early or book.

Consider THE CAMBRIA, far side of Ruskin Park.

I agree. The Cambria - ideal for families. Grub is fantastic.

Both The Old Nun's Head and The Great Exhibition do a good Sunday roast.

The White Horse's is a lot cheaper but nowhere near as nice.

Best one we have had recently was EDT (East Dulwich Tavern) Goose Green end of Lordship Lane; otherwise we always go to our local, The Plough at the Barry Rd end of Lordship Lane

Also a thumbs up for the old nun's head! It's the best roast I've had in the area (and I've tried a lot of them!)

Have only ever had one roast at the EDT.

Never again.

Miniscule portions - we had to ask for more veg. Really poor value for money considering their prices.

Haven't eaten at The Plough for years, but it has very poor reviews on here.

Just had lovely tender roast beef at the Old Nun's Head. It came with lovely crisp roasties, huge Yorkshire pudding, gravy, horseradish, kale, broccoli, carrots, parsnips, mashed swede, courgettes and cauliflower!

And you can choose to have it rare, medium or well done.

Came on a hot plate as well. And they do half portions at half price for "small people" (I assume that means children rather than vertically challenged adults).

Excellent ale as well, and very friendly service.

But now I'm so full I can hardly walk :)
