Loss of parking space outside 70 Barry Road

Does anyone else feel as strongly as me about the loss of the parking space outside 70 Barry Road?

A number of residents are considering an appeal because the parking situation on this stretch is already particularly difficult.

I believe they went through the planning process? So complaints can only be made if they broke the planning decision.

There had been a rejection to widen and then they merely got two dropped kerbs.

There were neighbour complaints on the application but it was passed.

My sister in law had a dropped kerb put in and it cost her ?300 in LB Lewisham in 1983- dread to think what it costs now. Maybe the council can use these things as a cash cow.

Car get broken into frequently. Thats why people like to be near their car at home. Ofcourse its not always possible but to just say cars have locks, well ....

Agree, this is beyond petty. Homes with off-street parking cost more so clearly its considered desirable and hardly shocking someone took advantage of local policy. If you think people shouldn't be able to get dropped curbs in the local area due to parking pressure issues, then take it up with the council.

Doesn't stop the break in but they will have less time to grab all your stuff as you come racing out with a pithy post. And if its raining you can stop the inside getting wet.

Why is your car parking more important than dropped kerb access for number 70?

It's a bit harsh to put the address of the private residence concerned on a public forum, particularly if they have gone through the proper application processes.

But...but... the people at number 70 presumably used to park on the street and now they won't, so that's more space for everyone else.

Looking on Google Streetview there's quite a lot of parking space now on the house's courtyard.
