I don't know if you can bear the thought of 2nd hand shoes, but if you can then you can 'upgrade' to really good shoes which are so well made and well balanced the heels are easier to cope with. I hate heels but I got a pair of Manolo's for ?10 in the Portobello road and they are THE most comfortable shoes with heels I have ever worn.

Sorry if this post doesn't make much sense but I hope you know what I mean.

The other prob with peep toes (I think it depends on shoe design for degress of sluttiness), is that your toes might get pinched into complete agony.

As for Hot X Buns (that sounds quite porno in itself)... not a bad idea. Or you could join me for some home made oat biscuits at Casa Wee Quinnie?

Cassius - 2hd would be OK - although I am not totally enamoured of the idea of trudging around West London to be honest. It is just toooooo far. Even if I go up to Oxford St., I always think "Why did I come here? I wish I was at home, under the duvet listening to Radio 4!"

OMG! It's midday - i have to start this essay now. ****!

PGC I'm about to head down Lordship Lane PM me if you want to meet for a bun!

I'm not wild about peep toes either, but I think that's because I've got really horrible toes!

For my wedding I got dance shoes made in white satin from the Freed shop on St Martins lane. They were unbelievably comfortable and looked lovely. If you've got time you can get satin dyed to match the dress.

It recently saved me hours when I was looking to see if there was a cheaper  energy tariff for my usage, and it  gave me other very useful relevant  information. I've also used it for several other things, and it has been eye openingly helpful. • Yes it would be easier, and I give a lot to the hospice shops, but for various reasons there are certain things I prefer to give to Oxfam. However I might go through the books and see if some could be donated more locally. I think in any charity shop staffed by volunteers, the reception you get must depend on the member of staff. The Oxfam bookshop have always been very happy when I've taken shedloads of books there in the past. On the other hand, I've taken things to the hospice shop that were received very grumpily when they hadn't even looked in the bag or asked what they were. It felt like I was being a nuisance and causing them more work. I don't remember a previous thread on here  about the Oxfam shop and parking, but that's possibly because it wasn't relevant to me at the time.
