I have been looking at buying at flat on Rye Hill Park, which seems to be a very quite cul de sac running off the North side of Peckham Rye. Does anyone here know this part of Nunhead (or Peckham)? Does it generally feel safe? Has anyone ever experienced any trouble here?

The road is boxed in with several estates and high rises, but when ever I have been there it appears to be very quiet.

Any help highly appreciated!

I live there and help manage the TRA and it's hall. It is indeed very quiet there. Crime is extremely low too. The TRA is very active and works with the SNT and Housing Officer to make sure any problems if they arise are dealt with quickly etc. It is nothing like the usual stereotypes applied to estates. And of course you have the beautiful park across the road too. I'd say go for it.

Hi there,

We live right next to Rye Hill Park on Peckham Rye itself. On the whole it seems fine. Don't see many unsavoury types around. It can be quite quiet, which I'm not sure is a good or a bad thing. i guess it depends on you!

I did park my car around there before and someone stole the battery on account of the car being so crap, but thats about it. these things happen everywhere.

    • Going to be really inconvenient for folk to go that way as has been stated.. why not just move to Camberwell which I would assume is abit nearer and better travelling wise or have vets in both places from Lordship Lane Branch.. Must have been massive flood if going to take two months to dry out, electrical tests to make sure all good… From upstairs? Or where?
    • @selector73 Thanks!  Because we want him to be treated by the vets that know him we will have to get to the New X branch because thats where the team are based until LL reopens. Thank you again 🙏
    • There's 1 in camberwell hope that helps
    • Thank you !  We Will find a way to get him to New X because We owe his life to the vets he sees at Lordship Lane branch and they know him (and us) and we prefer the continuity of care because he's an elderly rescue cat who gets extremely anxious even though he's been needing monthly bloods he just never gets used to going and it can be a lengthy process just getting the sample. Can you tell I'm as anxious about the whole thing as he is??😥
