I've just learned from a post on Facebook that Beatrice from French Caf? Bistrot sadly passed away suddenly on Saturday 24 July. The caf? is raising funds to assist Beatrice's parents support her 10 year old daughter. They are taking donations in person at the caf? or via their bank account, the details of which are in their Facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=4163203860384186&id=152354891469123
She was stabbed at her home around 10pm. She was rushed to Kings but sadly died soon after admittance. Her ex-husband has been arrested and is due to go on trial at The Old Bailey in October. The whole thing is just so tragic. However, I do wonder why he was carrying a knife in the first place! Was it with intent or just something he always had on him? I guess all will be revealed at his trial. My heart goes out to her family, especially her 10 year old daughter who will have to live with the horror of this. It's just heartbreaking.

    • Hi Can anyone recommend a gardener to help lay turf and dig in a new flower bed in East Dulwich? thanks
    • It may be worth consulting your vet. If she's diabetic & on medication, she will have missed 1-2 doses. It's a relief to hear that she's home, & I hope she makes a speedy recovery.
    • The swimming lessons at JAGS Sportsclub are very popular, and the gym there might meet your needs. Southwark took over running its leisure centres from everyone active a while back and so far seems to be making a real mess of things. There’s lots of private gyms and other council ones in Lewisham and Lambeth so depending on exactly where you’re going to be you can look at those. JAGS and Dulwich College both have sports clubs with nice facilities, but you can’t use them during the school day. Check their sites for details.

What amazes me is the similarity in every way to Gala - large areas annexed but the council trying to convince everyone it's only a tiny part of the park. Claiming that the flora & fauna is being protected when the reality is a tick-box environmental survey that's not worth the paper it's written on. All very depressing.
