Laptop repair

Recommended Posts

If you have had no error messages and as you said it was sudden.......I would try doing a system restore, any changes that have been made either by you or by an unknown source (Virus) can be "undone" This will not effect your data files only programs and O/S, In windows 7 simply hit the windows key and start typing system restore, when it shows, open the application and check the box that says "show more points" pick a restore point, say a week before the sudden slow done and let windows roll back you machine.

If you need any more help PM me

Hi Sophie,

A computer usually does that when there is a virus or the harddisk starts breaking.

Neither can be resolved by a restore, repair or reinstall.

I would love to help, as anything you try might make it worse.

I have a computer repair shop on Pellatt Road, so you can be save in the knowledge that your computer is in the best hands. My charges are reasonable and I have plenty of recommendations on here.

Cannot recommend Pawel from UK Computers enough. Had a laptop that refused to power up and already had received some advice from another computer "expert" that it could not be saved, only the data retrieved. Sent an email to Pawel who answered promptly and arranged to pick up the laptop that evening but at my convenience. Returned within 2 days fully functional (on a Saturday morning, again at my convenience) and Pawel clearly described what had happened and what he had done to rectify it. Costs extremely reasonable. Would definitely use him again.

    • Really sorry tohear this - incredibly unlucky and very unusual for both Dulwich and Peckham parks. (I have been a dog owner 12 years and never had any experience of this) what sorts of dogs were they? I’m assuming not the same each time - and did you see the owners? I wonder if there is someone new to the area - will def keep an eye out going forward . I do hope your pup is ok.
    • A number of us are puzzled that the event is not held on the common, this is where events are usually mounted, leaving the more ornamental section of the park free. Again, the objection is not so much to the three day event itself but to the fact that for the sake of three days a large section of the park is taken out of use for weeks, in high summer. There is also significant damage to that section of the park, seriously limiting its use for months. If music venues are closing in London I wonder if this is because they are having to compete with myriad park festivals, of which there has been an explosion.
    • I’m not a Southwark council stooge I’m a city drone working for the man in the square mile… I’ve been an East Dulwich resident from 2007. I lost access to my previous account  my new account is from 2012 as mentioned.  its unbelievably narrow minded to think that there is no local support for the festival. I would say that 8/10 of my local friends do.  OK they/we are the types that like a party. The two that  are mildly annoyed are dog walkers who do moan about having to use the other side of the park… but again they don’t hate it.  I take the point that although only 3 days of noise,  access to the park is restricted for longer but there is another mooosive bit of grass right next to it that people can use … ie the Rye common part of the park.  I feel London’s open spaces should be for everyone EVEN  those that like to listen music and dance in the open air. AND those that want to use it for quiet contemplation.  I would also like to highlight that nightclubs and venues  across UK are under pressure and closing at a shocking rate. A large event like this not only supports the artists playing and the  ‘scene. ’  It also provides traffic and income at local south London venues used for pre and post events/ drinking.  We should all be proud of the musical culture the UK  has to offer  and in particular it’s leading contribution to electronic dance music. There needs to be more  support for the reducing number of venues and events.
    • I'm sorry to hear about your little puppy being bitten. I hope s/he is ok. On another note I would be grateful if people generally don't use the name Karen negatively in posts. This Karen finds it rather hurtful.
