WANTED: Guitar Tuition

Recommended Posts

Hi there, I am looking for a good guitar tutor to help me make my axe sing.

I'm looking for a local teacher to come to my house if possible for an afternoon lesson, perhaps for an hour or two a week. daytime preferable. I have both acoustic and electric guitars (small amp)

I haven't played in many years, and even then I was rubbish (self taught) So I don't mind starting again and learning the correct techniques from the ground up. I like rock music, but I'm also very interested in learning classical guitar too. As a goal, I'd like to one day (this year) comfortably get through Buckley's cover of Hallelujah...at present, I have trouble even spelling it.

Anyway, if you think you can help me out then please PM me with your details/experience/rates etc and we'll take it from there.

Cheers

GT

I'd recommend Branco Stoysin. Been teaching me for a month or so and he's utterly committed, patient and pitches the teaching at just the right level for my your ability. V talented guitarist. Google him for contact details as don't have them to hand - he'll come up as there's not many Branco Stoysins!

You could also try myself! :) I have been teaching guitar of many styles for many years. From Pop, Rock, to Metal, Classical and Flamenco. I also teach music theory to those who are interested in the mechanics of music. I hold a Bachelor's degree in music composition, an equivalent in a master's degree in guitar and a current enhanced CRB working with children at a leading UK charity.

Hi GT,

I've been teaching for more than 10 years. I've been playing rock for 20 mainly rock, but studied other styles too to complement, which comes in handy.

I usually teach from the student point of view, meaning, it depends on the student I personalise my lesson to fit the student.

Anyway, if you haven't found someone give me shout.

take care,

Dan

    • What a bunch of pieholes. 2025 and you peasants have nothing to be grateful for. I have been inside the library recently and honestly the old girl is crying for a facelift, the goddamn carpet looks like it survived the world war and some. The Library is one of the oldest in Southwark and you are crying about a study place? What a bunch of bullshit. You have libraries all around you for your kids to go their studying you rotten sausage. How about be happy that the library is going to look absolutely stunning rather than be a whining bitch about it   Also, I have been told that the staffs have to work in the smaller libraries together. How do you think they feel?
    • I would like to recommend Aaron, who has just finished 5 days plastering work in my house. He is professional , polite, tidy, punctual and reliable. He did a fantastic job, a good price and a top quality finish. Highly recommended! Aaron Manser 07773 410661
    • Sadly, but not unreasonably, councils find it difficult to justify such expenditure on their current budgets. My family, which does like fireworks have been enjoying the displays by those still with disposable wealth by viewing them from Hilly Fields. Other hills (Dawson Heights) are available. For children who have autumn and winter birthdays, a firework display is some consolation for their birthday climate. My grandchildren, being summer babies, can enjoy garden parties and picnics. Without the need for explosions and dazzling display.
