You know I can still recite every word from my many Jam albums, and even the entire Dare album by The Human League - but try to get me to recite my Shakespeare - no, that is long gone.

I have just recited 'A Town Called Malice for James' - he looked horrified, so I thought - hey he wasn't a Mod - I forgive him. I then recited 'Love Action' by the Human league, and he opened a bottle of wine, and recited the words of 'Bat out of Hell'. God I am lucky I met him in the 90's - I would never have gone out with someone who was into Meat Loaf!

At least new romantics washed their hair.

It's friday after lunch, I'm tired, I've just had a greasy spoon (veggie breakfast with bacon) and can't keep my eyes open.

In a desperate bid to keep from falling asleep at my desk I've had a listen to this surreal slice of america.

If you're struggling too have a listen

Yo La Tengo - Today is the day

One of my all time favourite songs introduced by John McEnroe?!?!?

Okay Mockney, here's a challenge for your sleepy post-lunch state: about 20 years ago (gulp) I saved up tokens from KP Hula-Hoops and sent off for a big plastic hula hoop (in pieces). It came in the post with a red plastic very thin record (are they called 'micros' maybe?). For one happy summer I hula-hooped in my bedroom to the sounds of this record until it got lost/damaged/thrown away by annoyed parents. All I can remember about it was that the lyrics went something like " ... and you loop to the loop and hoop to the hoop" or something, in a kind of 'rap' styley by a man and then it went into a melody when he went "... and swing ...".

If you can find this and put it on in the Music Room I will bring you back some chorizo from Spain - leaving for the airport in one hour ... and if anyone else has happy memories of this song, let's get hula hooping!
