Am going through a huge Soft Machine phase at the moment.

ditto. you tubes great for really early glimpses. Ive got a fun story about one of them. The keyboard guy with the dark glasses Mike. I used to live a few doors down from him in Hackney. I could see over his garden from my bedsit. In that garden was just flat earth, no grass or beds or borders. Mud. In the very middle of that was one daffodil plant. He had a beaten up old porsche that was festooned inside with sheet music. Also a wife who wore the same kind of rectangular shades as he. Kind of kept his head down, but did well on the "Im a fan , like your music a lot".

Thanks for the Nick Drake, DC

As it happens I posted a Drake song "Northern Sky" in a thread called "Songs that bring a tear" some time back. Obviously have to get onto that lazy Admin guy to get him to sharpen up his lazy-arse act with that search box thingummy.

You're welcome CitizenED. He's one of my faves.

As he's playing in town this week (although I'm sadly not going) I thought I'd have a bit of the King (no, the other King)....the King of Rock 'n' Soul!

Solomon Burke - Don't Give Up On Me

and also, for all you Wire fans the season three closing montage...

    • That's great to know. But when you compare it to the roughly  34,000 that Cat Protection rehome per year it does make you scratch your head a bit doesn't it..?
    • How do you know what the fox wanted to do if it didn’t do it.
    • Quote "it was quite clear that it wanted to nip me." Doesn't say clearly that it tried to bite you , but instead implies that you had the impression, right or wrong that it wanted to nip you.  unless you are clear others will read it how you write it.  As for being a jobsworth, what a quaint old expression, haven't heard that for a long while.
    • Crook locks can be sawn through, or the steering wheel to which it is attached, I know to my own cost. The safest additional security measure is what's called a ghost immobiliser, which cannot be traced through the car's electronics, meaning it is difficult to bypass. They cost a bomb however.
