mockney piers
New Charlatans songs Oh Vanity! & You cross my PathRather nice. Nods to their early days while sounding fairly fresh if a bit unexciting. david_carnell
A great piece of modern hip-hop with intelligible and intelligent lyrics - and I feel like I can't say that too often at the moment. *terrible fan video though Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/304-music-room-its-fully-soundproofed/page/42/#findComment-86151 Share on other sites

mockney piers
Still playing for me, but never mind, here's the youtube Annual - BrotherI'll throw in a (slightly iffy) live version of sway too, which pitchfork described as all indie's recent soiled clothes washed in a lady black mambazo rinse. No idea what they're talking about but it makes for a good quote. mockney piers
The assisted dying thread (yeah good mood clearly gone now) reminded me of this song from Ed Hamell, whom SMG took me to see a few weeks ago.His father killed his mother (who had been suffering some sort of senile dementia) then killed himself. In his note he said that if Jesus wanted to have words with him, he'd scream "why did you do that to my Mary!!".Powerful but rewarding show (it's actually very funny believe it or not) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/304-music-room-its-fully-soundproofed/page/42/#findComment-86582 Share on other sites

SeanMacGabhann
In light of the fact that a Kraftwerk tribute band is playing the Wishing Well sometime in April (can't remember the date - saw it on a poster when I last passed) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/304-music-room-its-fully-soundproofed/page/42/#findComment-89718 Share on other sites

giggirl
Random muso thoughts:Kraftwerk played both Brixton and the Royal Festival Hall in living memory (3-4 years ago I think). In performance they are really dull. The 2008 Meltdown Festival at the Festival Hall (with Massive Attack as curators) due to announce lineup any day now. Portishead? Madonna guesting maybe? Tricky (what happened to him?). Whatever. These last few days I've been mostly listening to The Doors - man I would have loved to have seen The Doors play. Except for right now this moment - I'm listening to Iggy.
