Yeah, been waiting for the open day for weeks!

Had a nice chat to the two Ladies, both really friendly and helpful.

As for the ice cream, wow! We got back from Italy just on Sat and had eaten authentic gelato every day for 4 days. I can easily say this was at least the equal. The Fig & Caramel is just amazing!

I really hope the weather changes, I think this is a great addition to the Lane. I wish them every luck.

And I'll be back, sun or no sun!

I had a Pistachio cone on Saturday. It was very creamy, but somehow Pistachio ice cream never tastes as good as I remember it from when I was a kid :(

But there was a lot of it for a small size cone, and I thought it was good value for money.

I intend to slowly work my way through all their flavours!

Will still be going to Hope and Greenwood for their yummy ice cream too, though! Especially the salted caramel, it looks like .....

There are definitely seats outside, and when I went most people seemed to be having their ice creams in little tubs rather than cones, which I guess it's easier to sit down to eat.

Seats outside not much use in this weather, though :(

What bad luck for an ice cream shop to open in such a bad year for sun.

    • Ha! After I posted this, I thought of lots more examples. Screwfix and the hardware store? Mrs Robinson and Jumping Bean? Chemists, plant shops, hairdressers...  the list goes on... it's good to have healthy competition  Ooooh! Two cheese shops
    • You've got a point.  Thinking Leyland and Screwfix too but this felt different.
    • Moving into a new place and need both a wardrobe and a chest of drawers, ideally collection Friday. Thanks!
    • Lordship Lane has two dry cleaners, three pizza places and an Italian selling pizza, two burger places, three bakeries, two hardware (ish, I'm thinking AJ Farmer here), God knows how many coffee and charity shops, two Italians, three nail salons, five wine shops... Where was the abject outrage when Dynamic Vines opened up literally next door to Cave de Bruno? But I don't see his customers decamped next door - no, those stalwarts are still out in force every night.  In Roman times all businesses were clustered by product. It's what kept prices down. Same in any market you go to abroad, they're all selling the same things next to each other.  Why is everyone being so hard on this new place? It's called healthy competition - you can't curtail the expansion of your business on the basis you that might hurt someone else's.
