Yellow target stickers appearing on front of house

I recently noticed that two yellow target stickers had been put on the front of my house (see photo attached).

I removed them immediately but wondered if anyone else has seen these / is aware of them?

Does anyone have a contact for the local police officer, I'll let them know.

Why would burglars mark houses with stickers / caps / weird chalk markings. Surely whatsapp would be more efficient!

I'd imagine in this case that one of your neighbours was having survey work done.

Lordship Lane, south of the Lordship pub ad tou go up the hill, lots of luminous green paint at the base of the front walls. Is this targetting?

Possibly, but most likely by either a utility, a broadband/ telecom company or the local authority.

Otherwise vandalism.

Criminal gangs do target properties, of course, but not by marking them (which other criminal gangs could spot, and get in first! Hardly a good economic model for theft).

Remove your house number as well, I've heard of burglars circulating vulnerable addresses by telegram as well

There has been a lot of trolling on this forum in the past.

Usually the trolls are eventually removed, but often then come back under other names.
