Hi

I'm going to buy a MacBook but trying to decide where from. I've listed some options below. Some are cheaper options but have only 1 year warranty, whilst some retailers I trust a bit more than others to buy a laptop from. Price is important but so is the delivery and care of product. Let me know what you think...

Apple (with discount): ?928 (1 year warranty)

Apple (refurbished): ?899

Amazon: ?865 (1 year warranty)

John Lewis: ?999 (2 year warranty)

Two year warranty sounds like a good plan if your of a nervous disposition (and the warranty is up to scratch).

Towers have always been bulletproof for me (20 years of them, all sold-on without any sort of failure), but I have a friend who got a MacBook lemon and wished he had more than a year. Haven't bothered with any more than a one year warranty on Mac Lappies myself - but then mine haven't left a desk that often!

Two years gets you through any danger period with piece of mind..

    • I've been using Homecert for all my electrical work at my flat in London for several years.  They have done small jobs like this one ( fitting a new security light to the patio) and big ones like fitting a new consumer unity, and also tricky ones like investigating and sorting out a problematic power circuit. They are extremely reliable and efficient and the work is always of a very high quality. Communications with the office are, in addition, excellent. Their work is economically reasonable and properly costed. I cannot see myself bothering with any other London electricians as long as Homecert exists
