"Don't you agree?.." ..... and other phrases used by your boss

Recommended Posts

"I know it's annoying but i'm ALWAYS right"

&

"I measure my success in handbags"

along with....

"My husband doesn't speak - he's virtually autistic"

(tho when she wasn't around he was surprisingly fluent with conversation)

Add to that a nasally Kiwi accent & you'll see why I just-had-to get out of there.

There's nothing more cringeworthy than male, office-based managers and execs assuming a stern expression and impressing upon those beneath them how critical a situation is by using construction or mining-based terminology (sans c*nt and f*ck) i.e. - 'We're going to have to break ground and bore down to the root of the problem.'

Where on earth have you worked?!?!

"Don't you agree?...." means 'I've got this idea, and it is brilliant and you are going to agree/it will be implemented/ whether you like it or not...' (or your life will be made a misery for the foreseeable (subtext!))

My boss knows that I am much better than him at using a computer and he waits until the office is empty and then gets me to show him how to do stuff- I lurrrrve seeing him grovel for help

The clue's in "office-based". Otherwise I wouldn't be in much of a position to comment. What's with the Xs?
