We had a long period where the wind was coming from the north east. That meant the planes coming into Heathrow were not flying over ED. Now the wind has changed to the prevailing South westerly the Heathrow planes are flying over again.

Next week winds are forecast to be from the north so we?ll have a quiet period.

City planes tend to fly in along the Thames from the east.

It?s the Heathrow planes that fly over us generally.

So noisy.

I wish the watermelons in Tooley St and City Hall would do something about the awful noise and air pollution caused by planes in this area instead of carrying on their poitnless war on road junctions.

I don't think you know your onions. Your real beef is with the mandarins of the Civil Aviation Authority.

Well I feel like a right nanna now as my search came up with DfT.  From first hand experience their officials are involved.  Not going to work out the exact relationship between CAA and DfT, it has become more arm's length, but would expect that accountability is through the man/woman or fruiting body in Whitehall

At my end of LL, I'm on the London City flightpath rather than Heathrow.    The Heathrow flightpath goes over the main part of ED.

The plane noise seems to have been really loud lately.

Have they been flying lower for some reason?

Or are there more of them? 

Or is it more noticeable because there's less road  traffic noise?

Or am I imagining it?

I don't usually notice plane noise, I thought I had got used to it!
