Cost of installing Solar panels and Estimated Savings

Hello all,

I wondered, if any readers of the EDForum, have installed Solar panels on their property roof and would be happy to share their own experience about the following:

estimated costs of installation Solar Panel Installation?

Hurdles with council approval?

Access to govt grants? There seems a lot of grants available but wondered if these grants in reality are easy to access

Estimated saving from this type of investment?

I just had 5 panels and a 6.5kw battery installed by a new UK wide company called Otovo. They’re a Norwegian company and I’ve been very impressed with how the install went. Firstly good communication, secondly you don’t have to pay anything until work completed, finally the price was at least a third cheaper than anyone else quoted. I paid just over £7k, and an an additional £500 to the sub contracted installer to add bird mesh (who was v good). I would give the whole experience 5 stars.
