Help holiday ideas with 8 and 12 year of

Recommended Posts

we usually go to Spain each year in the summer to stay with relatives. This year my children are complaining it is too boring and they want to go somewhere where they can meet other children and take part in activities without their boring parents!! Am looking for suggestions. Husband and I like a bit of comfort so not keen on camping, or at least not in a tent. Also would like some guaranteed sun.

Thanks

We used to take ours to La Garangeoire Campsite in St Julien Des Landes in the Vendee (and before that to L'Etang de La Breche near Saumur in the Loire) - we camped but they have mobile homes/chalets as well - we went with Eurocamp but you can book direct as well- they have kids clubs pony trekking archery etc loads of things for children to do and lots of other children around. They are both Castels campsites so they are a bit of a cut above the "cram them in " campsites that you can find in France.

    • We were hoping to have a meal at Monkatsu  last night (Sunday), after having been out all day. Online information gave the closing time as 10pm. We got there around 8.30pm and they wouldn't give us a table because "the kitchen closes in half an hour." Surely it doesn't take half an hour to make a meal? We've never had to wait that long when we've eaten there before. Has anybody else had this happen? We ended up going home and getting a delivery, which wasn't how we had envisaged the end of a nice day 🙄
    • That place did only have pizzas on the menu, to the best of my recollection. We ate there once, the pizzas were ok but the room was not exactly atmospheric. Il Mirto has  a lot of pasta dishes on the menu,  but that also never seems busy. It's small and out of the way,  and easily forgotten if you're looking for somewhere to eat, I suppose.
