SebsC
Hi there, hoping someone could come up with some good ideas. Hoping to go for a day out on Saturday for my sons 2nd birthday with various family members, including a ten and twelve year old. Any ideas for something that would entertain all ages, including the adults? Had thought about a trip on the Thames cable car, then the London Docklands Museum followed by lunch somewhere. Anyone done this and can recommend or any alternative ideas welcomed. Thanks. VALFR59
A tour in the Dinausores room of the NHM and to the Science museum (perfect all for all ages). You can borrow for free an explorator kit at the entrance (very fun for little ones and for bigger, they can be dectectives!)Finsih by a nice treat with an afternoon tea at the Amperstand Hotel (very good value for money! very nice venue, nealy new boutique h?tel and afternoon tea for 17?). After Tea, if you all have again energy and the weather is nice, a nice tour in South Kens gardens changea bit ofour lovely Dulwich park. (nice playground for kids)From WD station you are easily there (you go to victoria and take the tube to South kens) or relatively easy to park around the WE...it takes us door to door 25min when we go there. Only thing is that it can be busy over the WE! we are used to go on Fridays, and when it's not school holidays....anyway just an ideaMy sons loves both of those museums since he has 2yrs and my nephew ( 9, 13 , and 17 ) had loved it too when I've brought them there. bluesuperted
We had a brilliant day out for my 2.8 yo recently at Godstone Farm - loads to see for little ones and we enjoyed it too! Lots of animals, a soft play, reasonable cafe, big sandpits and tractor rides. There's also a big adventure playground near the exit - we didn't go in as ran out of time but the older kids might enjoy that. Mathilda
Recently went to London Docklands Museum with my 2 year old, she loved it, lots for the adults and it tends to be quiet on Saturdays too. We just went to the Strada next door but there's lots of lunch options around. Haven't been on the cable car yet but really want to! Piaf
Cable car is great fun for that age - get the 360 round trip ticket... We took the boat (Thames clipper) from London bridge or tower bridge to north greenwich and then back to Greenwich for lunch and or visit to maritime museum where there is a good cafe ... The boat is part of the funwe find Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/32179-ideas-for-2-year-olds-birthday-day-out/#findComment-644676 Share on other sites
SebsC
Thanks everyone for the ideas. I like the sound of Godstone Farm and still keen on cable car and museum but just so weather dependent! Fingers crossed for dry weather. If it is pouring with rain I will be really stuck for ideas!
