There is also the spa in bethnal green - quite cheap, you can spend two hours enjoying the facilities (long chairs for sleeping on) and then enjoy hoxton/east london etc. The therapists that work there are really good, and I have had the odd mini facial or half hour massage booked on after the spa time (easy to get to by overland, and a quick bus)

I had some time over Easter on my own and used it to clear out/sell/donate lots of stuff, without enquiring little hands wanting to know why things were leaving the house!

I think there is a book/literary festival on at the Southbank ....

I second the earlier recommendation of Colombia Road flower market and Spitalfields .....

A real guilty pleasure I have is lying in bed all day, reading a book, listening to the radio, fiddling around on the inetnet, snoozing and being REALLY lazy. No-one knows you're doign it except you and you can really revel in the sheer decadence. Make sure you put your best sheets on the bed the day before and have lots of pillows, maybe a half bottle of champagne or prosecco around lunch time?

Whatever you to decide to do, I hope you have a lovely time, you deserve it.

    • I would'nt go locally I'd go to Maria Tash in Liberty..it'll be more expensive but they will do a good job and its their buisness not a 'sideline' to other beauty offerings. https://www.mariatash.com/store-locations/maria-tash-london-liberty?srsltid=AfmBOoqMz7Ev-4YqzrlkePX0n3i5JbiggGYSR9kU5z1p_ajP_jjQKqlt I have no experience of piercing at Polished but I went in to enquire about a manicure and I found the staff attitude pretty rude, looking me up and down when I walked in and just giving off a bad attitude like they just could'nt be bothered maybe because I'm not a glam 30 something? I dont know.
    • Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone here buys Bonne Maman jam? I’d love to upcycle the empty jars if you're planning to throw them out. I'm hoping to make my own jam and would really appreciate using those cute jars for it. Thanks
    • There's been a pub/inn (The Green Man) on that site for hundreds of years. Shown on Rocques map 1746. A mixed redevelopment pub/affordable residential/commercial maybe some lower cost offices/studios would help refresh this area. Skatepark must stay surely.  Looks a lot of fun. and much needed on the area. There has to be a pub of some sort.  The rationalisation of the pedestrian crossing is long overdue (it used to be a Zebra crossing years ago) and much welcomed. Hopefully this could encourage greater use of Cox's Walk and the woods. If we had somewhere to eat and drink at the end of a walk through the woods. Or for those old enough who have used the skatepark, it could be an attraction again. The Dulwich Estate need to get off their obsession with corporate tenants (although to be fair they have allowed some independent commercial tenants into some of the smaller premises) and get a smaller, more agile, pub operator in there.
