Oooooh, I just have no discipline. None at all.

I have surfed the EDF boards; organised tix for Daniel Kitson on Sunday (hoorah!); made a lovely smoked mackerel pasta salad( I always turn to food!); and now I think I must MUST start work.

Worked from home today - :-$

A few emails and phone calls throughout the day to give the impression of working. Went to B&Q for bigger pots(the balcony veg patch is thriving) and Asda (cos its next door to B&Q). Talked to the runner beans, herbs, toms and the broad beans, read the last rights to the bay bush.

Forumed ......

well it's half past ten and I'm still in the office, so actually not "instead of working", but "as well as" - I HAVE RESIGNED (er, with no job to go to)

am so thrilled that I'm not going to be working 70 hour weeks anymore, that I just had to stay back and finish a presentation...

Oh Mrs B,

I am so very unwell, I have been confined to my budoir all week (sigh). I have missed Ascot and my hat is sitting on my dressing table (sob). Tell me, I need to know, is a colonic worth the ...er, indignity?

I hear a girl can shed almost 8 pounds during one treatment, I hate to think of putrifying matter clinging to my insides. I would love to have it washed away. I am such a modest lady though, I don't think that I could remain composed enough to allow the procedure to be conducted. I have never ever removed my underwear for a stranger in my entire life (my munchkins were born by caesarean section).

On the one hand, I have read that a colonic can improve ones ability to absorb vitamins and give a girl a clear skin and sparkly eyes, but what if the presence of the "colonic sludge" actually inhibits calorie absorbtion? Knowing my luck, I would gain an increased ability to absorb calories and end up the size of a small family car.

Sounds like some downstairs housekeeping could be just what you need to restore your girlish bloom and a flat stomach. It depends, to put it delicately, on quite how full of it you are, but it certainly gives you clear skin, though you may have to put up with a slight headache and tiredness immediately afterwards and a reduced ability to metabolise Chablis.

I moved the living room furniture around.

Instead of doing my tax return I have been meaning to do since it hit the doormat in April.

Today had been a perfect day to do both.

Colonic irrigation. Mmmm. Think I'd rather do a tax return.

What's the number?

I go to the lovely Common Sense in Clapham, which to judge from past posts goes against the grain for many ED residents. If you prefer local and don't mind a man interfering with your lower person without even buying you a drink first I understand Mike Harmon provides a service from home in Nunhead.

    • Incidentally, Southwark seems to have possibly adopted a requirement of swift boxes in new-builds anyway, and I think they're not the only LA to have done so. I recently added to to my post in https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/342208-free-swift-nest-box-installation-in-se22/#comment-1703954, the edit:- [ 30/4/25, 18/6/25  ETA To answer my own question: I see that 4 swift nesting boxes were actually  required at an earlier stage of that same developments application.  In the 4/4/25 Decision Notice of  application 24/AP/3740 is: "8. The development shall be carried out in accordance with the swift bricks details approved under 24/AP/3596 unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Local Planning Authority ]
    • Hi, I'm after some free moving boxes in good used/reusable condition. Large, Medium and small size and any packing spare materials you might want to pass on. Reduce, reuse, recycle. I'm not moving home for a few months, so if something comes up later on, please do DM me. I will keep this post open/active until found. Many thanks
    • Anyone know why temporary lights were put in on East Dulwich Grove on Sunday but as of 8am this morning no works are evident ? I imagine works are planned but have been delayed but the team putting in the lights have gone ahead anyway. 🙄 Just as well Alleyns and JAGS have finished...
