Employment Law Advice

Recommended Posts

Recommendations needed please for urgent specialist employment advice for an employee. Tried CAB, Southwark Law Centre but referrals are non existent and advice needs to be more specific - are there any solicitors that offer free advice locally, or anywhere. Days have been spent trawling the internet. Thank you.

Unless it would identify the individual concerned, you could try posting details of the issue on here?

I think otherwise you're unlikely to find an employment law specialist offering free advice re a specific situation. Why should they? I don't want to sound harsh, but presumably they are in their job to make a living ..... and that sort of advice doesn't come cheap, I imagine.

One further suggestion - try a college or university which runs employment law courses. They're often a module in other courses. The LSE used to, no idea if they still do. One of the lecturers might be willing to advise - maybe.

Sent you a private message.

If you could provide some additional details I may be able to point you in the direction of some resources to help etc. I am not a solicitor but work in the human resources field.

My understanding is that it is difficult for solicitors to provide 'free' advice as their professional insurance may not cover it etc.

How about the law schools - they run pro bono centres offering free legal advice which is great experience for their students.

Below is the link to BPP's pro bono centre but I know the University of Law have one too, but I can only find the website from a student's perspective.

Hope this helps.

    • It’s good we are having this discussion. My point of view is that we are definitely witnessing an attempt at genocide in Palestine, the right wing of the Israeli government have some awful views, some of the language representing the worse of humanity.  Jewishness should not be conflated with Israel or Zionism, I see that has been the case for some of the comments in this thread. Conflating the actions of a Zionist Israeli Government with Jewish people is actually considered antisemitism and is a very dangerous way of thinking, leading to Jewish people in the UK feeling unsafe.    Support peace and march today, I have been many times and met some lovely people.  It’s a long read, but if any of you are interested in how early Israeli settlers from Europe viewed Arab-Jews and the consequences do have a read.  https://www.vox.com/world-politics/24122304/israel-hamas-war-gaza-palestine-arab-jews-mizrahi-solidarity
