nice lunch venue with toddlers

My lovely parents have offered to take us out for lunch and I fancy going somewhere new that is fun for children. Already know the Herne, cafe on the Rye and the Fox on the Hill. Any fresh ideas out there please?

Always recommend The dish and the spoon on Cheltenham

Road.

Also heard of (but never been) a pizza bus in Deptford?

The Rosendale in West Dulwich has a lovely beer garden with kids play equipment, food's nice too. The Rye Hotel near Peckham Rye also has a great outside space, never eaten there though. Agree with the above The Dish and the Spoon is fab. Ours really like Giraffe and Pizza Express, bit boring but they are very child friendly! Have fun.

how about the La Quercia in Honor Oak? It's an Italian family owned restaurant. Food (not pizza) is delicious and they keep a lot of toys for children.

if you search there is a previous thread about this with a recommendation for a pizza place in Dulwich village that I can't remember the name of but it was great.

The cafe at brockwell lido is good, have lunch overlooking the pool and also can go and play in the park before/after :)

Food and service at the Rye pub is horrendous (sadly as used to be great in previous incarnations)

Le Quercia is lovely, lovely food and service x

Roca in Dulwich Village is lovely & the staff all seem to adore children :-)

Rocca is my all time favourite, lovely food too! There's also a new Gail's opened recently, yummy cakes!

Rocca every time - weekly visits for us. The staff, food, price, everything - I'd live there if I could :0)

Thank you so much for recommending The Rosendale. We went there and had a lovely time. It's such a nice setting, the children had lots of fun in the play area and I thought their food was presented really thoughtfully too as there was only a little on the plate so not over-facing as can often be the case. The main meals were very special and tasty as well.

Another recommendation for Le Querce in SE23. The only place I can go with kids and truly relax. Delicious homemade pasta and pizza (Sunday to Thursday) are my children's favourite. Staff are great and there are toys. Mine ask to go there at least once a week! It's a restaurant rather than a cafe.
